George Franklin Good George Franklin Good was born on 16 September 1901. Good graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1923. His early assignments included duty in Haiti, Nicaragua, and sea duty aboard the USS Pennsylvania from 1937 to 1939. He next served a tour of duty as Defense Battalions, Iceland and Ellice Island. He was stationed in Okinawa as part of the occupation force from 1944 to 1945. After the war Good was liaison to the Chief of Naval Operations from 1952 to 1953. His next assignment was as Commander of the 2nd Marine Division from 1953 to 1954 and of the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA, from 1954 to 1957. His last assignment was as Commander, Department of the Pacific from 1957 to 1958. Death and Burial Lieutenant General George Franklin Good died on 25 October 1991 in Harlingen, TX. He is buried at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis, MD. |
