Philip Bracken Fleming
Major General, U.S. Army

Philip Bracken Fleming was born on 15 October 1877 in Iowa.

Fleming began his military career upon graduating from West Point and being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He was a veteran of World War I and eventually served in the administrations of two presidents.

From 1935-36 he served as District Engineer, Eastport, ME; was Coordinator, Resettlement Administration during 1936-37; and was District Engineer, St. Paul, MN, from 1937-39.

In President Franklin Roosevelt's administration, he served as Special Advisor to the Secretary of Labor; as Administrator of Wage
