CPL ROBERT ELMER BRYANT,
“Bob” was, born in Washington, PA, area, on February 18, 1944, to James and Ethel Bryant. He was the youngest of 8 children. It is, believed he grew up in Washington, and his parents later moved to Fort Myers. He loved to work on old cars. He was married to Marian who resided in Fort Myers for 11 months before being KIA. His son, Robert E Bryant, Jr. was born the month after he died. He was encouraged to join the Marines by one of his older brothers.
After joining the Marines, he was, sent to Vietnam, start date of tour is unknown. He served with HQ CO, 9TH ENG BN, 1ST MAR DIV. On September 13, 1966, he gave his life for our Country in a vehicle accident in Trung Tin, South Vietnam.
He received a Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service w/Silver Star & 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medals, and Combat Action ribbon.
