Biography:

CWO2 WAYNE MORRIS BELL Wayne was born on October 23, 1937, in Michigan to Emily and Richard Bell. Little is known about his early years as family is deceased. He was, married to Carolyn J Bell, and was a career military man. At the time of his death, his parents resided in North Fort Myers. He joined the Army and became a helicopter pilot. His tour of duty in Vietnam began on January 10, 1968, with D CO, 229TH ASLT HELO BN, 11TH AVN GROUP, 1ST CAV DIV. On October 12, 1968, he gave his life for our Country in an air crash in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. He was awarded an Aviator Badge, Purple Heart, Air Medal w/ Numeral 10, Army Reserve Components Achievement, National Defense, Vietnam Service w/4 Bronze Stars, Armed forces Reserve w/bronze M, Vietnam Campaign Medals, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, and Army Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon.
