Biography:

Rae Arvid Bailey
Sergeant, U.S. Army

On 18 October 1970, Specialist Four Rae Arvid Bailey was serving with C Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, in Binh Thuy Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SPC4 Bailey was killed in action when the helicopter in which he was a crew member was shot down. His body was recovered.

He received a posthumous promotion to the rank of Sergeant.
