Edward Darrell Akers
Private First Class, U.S. Army

On 11 January 1966, Private First Class Edward Darrell Akers was serving with C Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Akers was killed in action when he sustained multiple fragmentation wounds. His body was recovered.
