Richard Louis Akel

On 19 May 1968, Specialist Four Richard Louis Akel was serving with C Company, 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry, 198th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division, in Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Akel was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.

Akel received a posthumous promotion to Sergeant.
