On 10 March 1969, Sergeant Fidel Joe Aguirre was serving with F Company, 75th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, in Hau Nghia Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SGT Aguirre was declared dead after sustaining wounds from an explosive device. His body was recovered.
