On 29 October 1965, Petty Officer Third Class Restituto Poblete Adenir was serving with NMCB-9, 3rd NC Brigade, U.S. Naval Forces Vietnam, in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PO3 Adenir was killed in action when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered.
