John Quincy Adam John Quincy Adam was born on 22 December 1947, in Kansas City, KS, to Kenneth W. and Esther R. Tolly Adam. He was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School, where he played the bass clarinet. John had always wanted to fly so he joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating high school and he eventually became Loadmaster on a C-130 Hercules aircraft. On 22 May 1968, Airman First Class John Quincy Adam was serving with the 41st Tactical Airlift Squadron, 374th Tactical Airlift Wing, 13th Air Force, at Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand. On that date, A1C Adam was listed as Missing in Action. On 21 June 1978 the status was changed to Died While Missing. During the time that he was listed in MIA status, Adam was promoted to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Medals, Awards and Badges Purple Heart Honors The name John Q Adam is located on Panel 65E Line 006 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Burial of Remains The recovered remains of Senior Master Sergeant John Quincy Adam were interred at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, KS, on 27 July 2009. |
