Bill R. Ackerman

On 29 March 1970, Private First Class Bill R. Ackerman was serving with 1st Platoon, A Company, 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry, 11th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division, in Quang Ngai Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Ackerman was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.

Ackerman received a posthumous promotion to Corporal.
