Carl Edward Abner

On 27 December 1967, Lance Corporal Carl Edward Abner was serving with L Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, III Marine Amphibious Force in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, LCpl Abner was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
