John Edward Kilduff Corporal John Edward Kilduff was a member of Company D, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Immediately following the 1950 North Korean invasion of South Korea, the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines sailed from Camp Pendleton, CA, to defend the Pusan Perimeter as a part of the famous "Fire Brigade." The 2nd Battalion also participated in the landing at Inchon and the liberation of Seoul. On 7 December, the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines was acting as rear guard for the 1st Marine Division as it moved to Kot'o-ri during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Cpl Kilduff and 13 other Marines were Killed in Action that day while fighting Chinese Communists near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea.
