First Lieutenant Fenwick was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 981st Field Artillery Battalion, 40th Infantry Division. On 28 August 1952, he was piloting an observation aircraft, which developed trouble, so he attempted to land near Sanyang-ni, North Korea. The aircraft crashed killing him.
Fenwick was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
