Airman First Class DeGeorge was a crew member of a C-47 Skytrain transport with the 1973rd Airways and Air Communication System Squadron, 1818th Airways and Air Communication System Group. On 27 December 1952, while enroute from Seoul, his aircraft crashed at Haengom-ni, South Korea.

DeGeorge was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
