Private Creamer was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On 23 January 1953, while on a training exercise near Pinyong, South Korea, fragments from a near mortar round struck his chest and abdomen mortally wounding him.

Creamer was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
