Private First Class Ramos was a member of Service Company, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On 8 September 1952, he drowned trying to cross a stream near Yongchow, North Korea.

Ramos was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
