Technical Sergeant Miller was a member of the 336th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (Rocketeers), 4th Fighter Interceptor Wing. He suffered a coronary occlusion and was evacuated to the 4th Field Hospital at Taegu, South Korea, where he died on 20 April 1951.

Miller was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
