Private First Class Bobbitt was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was seriously wounded by the enemy near Kumchon, South Korea on 24 September 1950 and returned to duty on 7 September 1950. He was seriously wounded again near Subuk, South Korea on 30 January 1951 and died of those wounds the following day.
Bobbitt was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
