Private First Class Orren was a member of the 107th Transportation Truck Company, U.S. Army. On 16 April 1952, he was driving a truck near Chunchon, South Korea, when he lost control and the truck crashed through a guard rail into a river causing him to drown.

Orren was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
