Private First Class Pollard was a member of the 57th Ordnance Recovery Company, U.S. Army. He died of other causes on 9 March 1953 at the Norwegian Mobile Army Surgical Hospital.

Pollard was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
