Warrant Officer Perry was a member of the 955th Field Artillery Battalion. He suffered a myocardial infarction (coronary thrombosis) and was taken to the 121st Evacuation Hospital where he died on 4 December 1951.

Perry was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
