|
James C. Boozer, Sr. James C. Boozer, Sr., entered the U.S. Army in 1980 as a Field Artilleryman. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant through ROTC from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He also holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. During his Army career, Boozer has served in a variety of command and staff positions in the United States and around the world, as well as multiple deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with his most recent deployment as the Assistant Division Commander for Maneuver, 1st Armored Division and as the Deputy Commanding General for Multi-National Division-North in Iraq. He has commanded at the Battery through Brigade level; served in staff positions in the Pentagon on the Department of Army staff; and as the Chief of Plans, J-3, U.S. Central Command. His most recent assignments included Operations Director, Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management Command, followed by serving as Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Europe. On 25 June 2013, MG Boozer assumed his present duties as Commander, United States Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) and remained in that position until July 2015.
