Biography:

Sergeant First Class Knotts was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. In Korea, he was a member of the 187th Airborne Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in the Kumhwa Valley, North Korea by an enemy hand grenade on 14 July 1953.
