Seaman Ochar was a crewman with the destroyer USS Wallace L. Lind (DD-703). While en route to his ship for Korean service, his civilian aircraft crashed. He died in Faxton Hospital, Utica, New York, on 10 September 1950.
Ochar was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
