Mikey Tahdooahnippah Mikey Tahdooahnippah was drafted into the U.S. Army and assigned to 46th Company, 12th Battalion, 165th Depot Brigade at Camp Travis, TX. He was reassigned to 30th Company, 8th Battalion, 165th Depot Brigade, also at Camp Travis, about 20 April 1918, then transferred to 2nd Battalion, 1st Replacement Company at Camp Gordon, GA, on 29 April 1918. He was transferred to Newport News, VA, on 21 June 1918 and then departed for France from Camp Stewart, GA, on 27 June with Company #8, 106th Regimental Field Artillery and was wounded in action in October 1918. A letter received on 21 November stated that on 28 October 1918 he was in the First Birmingham War Hospital in Ward 3B in Rubery, England. In November 1918, he was in the Liverpool England American Red Cross Military Hospital #4. PVT Tahdooahnippaharrived in New York City on 10 December and on 16 December 1918 he started for Fort Logan. On 16 January 1919, he was transferred to Camp Pike, AR, and discharged on 12 February 1919. Death and Burial Private Mikey Tahdooahnippah died on 14 September 1973. He is buried at Cache Kiowa Comanche Apache Intertribal Cemetery in Comanche County, OK. This Honoree Record was prepared with the valuable assistance of Lanny G.
