|
First Lieutenant Manos was the navigator of a B-26C Invader bomber with the 162nd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 543rd Tactical Support Group. On 5 January 1951, as the aircraft lifted off the runway at Taegu Air Base, Korea, it crashed killing all on board. Manos was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. |
