Christel Wilkerson is the granddaughter of PFC Wellington Mihecoby [Honoree Record ID 227344], Comanche Code Talker during World War II.

Wilkerson received her Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, as a Military Policeman (Prison Guard) at Fort McClellan, AL. Specialist Wilkerson served the rest of her enlistment with the US Army Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, KS. She was a member of the Post Funeral Detail and Color Guard.
