Sergeant Joslyn was a member of the Heavy Equipment Company, 74th Engineer Combat Battalion, which was attached to the Commonwealth Division. He was stricken with poliomyelitis and taken to the 25th Evacuation Hospital where he died on 21 August 1952.

Joslyn was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
