Biography:

Private First Class Hundshamer was a machine gunner with the Machine Gun Platoon, Company E, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. On 19 June 1951, he was attacking the southern rim of the "Punchbowl" in North Korea when he was seriously wounded and evacuated to a Naval Hospital Ship, where he died on 3 July 1951.

Hundshamer was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
