Biography:

Sergeant First Class Diebold was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was killed while fighting the enemy on "Old Baldy" in North Korea on 17 April 1953.

Diebold was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
