Biography:

Aviation Electronics Technician First Airman Coia was a crewman on a patrol bomber, P2V-4 Neptune, from Patrol Squadron 26, based at the Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island. On 21 November 1952, during an anti-submarine warfare exercise, the aircraft crashed into Narragansett Bay, killing eight crewmen.

Coia was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
