Warrant Officer Booher was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on 29 December 1950 near Sinnyong, South Korea.

Booher was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Korea War Service Medal, the European Theater of Operations Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
