Staff Sergeant Abdo was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force. After a short illness, he died at St. Albans Military Hospital, Long Island, New York, on 11 June 1951.

Abdo was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
