Master Sergeant Tucker was a member of Headquarters Battery, I Corps Artillery. He died of other causes on 27 September 1953 on the bank of the Yongp-Yong River, North Korea.

Tucker was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
