Douglas Jack Daane graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School, Sheboygan Falls, WI, in the Class of 1967.

On 1 June 1970, Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer Third Class Douglas Jack Daane was serving with CAP 2-4-2, CACO 2-4, 2nd CAG, Combined Action, III Marine Amphibious Force, in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PO3 Daane was killed in action when he sustained wounds from an explosive device. His body was recovered.
