Private Landry was a member of the 195th Ordinance Depot Company, U.S. Army. On 22 November 1951, at Ascon City, South Korea, he was securing electrical fixtures to the roof of a building when the roof fell dropping him 85 feet to his death.

Landry was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
