Sergeant Gebbia was a Signal Corps advisor with the 8202nd Army Unit, Military Advisory Group, Korea (KMAG). He died of other causes on 5 October 1952, 5 miles north of Chongdo, South Korea.

Gebbia was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
