Airman Second Class Bellamy was a radio mechanic from the 6164th Tactical Control Squadron attached to the 16th Infantry Regiment, 8th Republic of Korea Division. On 12 February 1951, while directing air attacks on the enemy near Hoengsong, South Korea, his unit was surrounded and he was taken Prisoner of War. He died of fever at the Prisoner of War camp at Nol-Chong Song on 17 July 1951.
Bellamy was awarded the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
