Private Weese was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. After delivering supplies to the front line on 14 October 1950, his convoy was ambushed and he was wounded and taken prisoner. That evening he was executed near Kaesong, North Korea.
Weese was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
