Private Quinn served with the U.S. Artillery in Korea. He developed acute meningitis and was evacuated to the 1st Mobile Army Surgical Hospital where he died on 28 April 1951.

Quinn was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
