Airman Krieger was a member of the 18th Installations Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Wing, U.S. Air Force. He fell under a moving vehicle at Osan-ni (K-55) and was evacuated to the hospital ship USS Response at Inchon, South Korea where he died on 9 September 1953.

Krieger was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
