Corporal Walker was a member of Battery B, 9th Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He contracted epidemic hemorrhagic fever and was taken to the 121stst Hospital where he died on 7 October 1951.

Walker was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
