Private Benjamin was a member of Headquarters Company, 2nd Engineer Construction Group, U.S. Army. On 30 July 1953, he drowned while swimming in the Imjin River, Korea. Benjamin was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. |
