Biography:

Joe Richard Risener was the son of Porter and Lula Hood Risener.

In 1943, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was wounded during the Battle of Saipan in 1944. He left the Marines at the end of World War II as a Private First Class.

He attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, and the Harding Graduate School of Religion (now known as Harding School of Theology) in Memphis, TN.

Joe was a Church of Christ minister for more than 60 years, preaching at churches across the country. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Park Hills Church of Christ in Park Hills, MO.

Joe Richard Risener died on Tuesday, 28 October 2008 at his home in Park Hills, MO. He is buried at Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Clay County, AR.
