Evelle Jansen Younger
During World War II he served with Army Intelligence in India; he also served during the Korean War. Younger worked his way up through the ranks to Major General in the Air Force Reserve. Younger was a Los Angeles Assistant District Attorney and a Judge in both Municipal court and Superior Court. As District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles, many headline-grabbing cases were prosecuted during his term, included the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy, the Manson Family murders and the Watts Riots. In 1970, he was elected California State Attorney General. Death and Burial Evelle Jansen Younger died on 4 May 1989 in Hollywood, CA. He is buried at Los Angeles National Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA, in Section C-185 #65. |
