Private First Class Cutts was a member of Company A, 376th Engineer Construction Battalion, U.S. Army. He died of other causes on 10 May 1951 aboard the Naval hospital ship, USS Haven (AH-12).

Cutts was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
