Private Wilson was a member of the 506th Quartermaster Petroleum Supply Company, U.S. Army. He developed spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage and was evacuated to the 8055th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital where he died on 27 May 1951.

Wilson was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
