Joab Sublett, Sr. Joab Sublett was born on 8 December 1893 in Missouri. He was the son of John Green ("Fighting Jack") Sublett and Sarah (Sallie) T. Barnes. He was the youngest of 10 children. Joab married Ruth Lee Anderton in 1921 and they had 4 sons together: Joab (Junior), Bruce Duane (Duane), Roy Wendell, and Roger Fay. He served as a Corporal in Company M, 349th Infantry, 88th Division during World War I. While serving overseas in Alsace, France, he was gassed and suffered from nerve damage the remainder of his life. Death and Burial Corporal Joab Sublett Sr. died on 8 April 1949 in Boone County, MO. He is buried at Olivet Christian Church Cemetery in Columbia, Boone County, MO. |
