Sergeant Sanders was a member on Headquarters Company, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He died of other causes on 2 November 1952 at CT3133.

Sanders was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
